3.3 Answering Machine Override Feature
To use the Answering Machine Override feature, the various control panels must be
programmed as follows:
PC5010 v1.x: Section [401] Light 1.
When downloading is enabled, the double-call function is enabled automatically
PC5015, PC5010 v2.0, PC1565-2P, PC1555/1565, PC580/585: Section [401] Light 1 ON.
PC4020, PC4010 and PC4000:
The Double Call feature in the System Area
þ DLS Section must be enabled
PC3000: Section [47] Zone Light 7 ON
PC2585: Section [44] Zone Light 7 ON.
PC2550: Section [47] Zone Light 7 ON
PC2525: Section [70] Zone Light 3 ON
PC1575/1580: Section [71] Zone Light 6 ON
PC1550: Section [31] Zone Light 3 ON

To use the Override feature, you must begin by initiating a call to a panel which
shares a line with an answering machine. Listen to the modem speaker to hear when
the phone line rings once. Press [F6]. The computer will immediately hang up the
line — this alerts the panel that the next call is for it. After a few seconds, the
computer will automatically call the panel again.The panel will now pick up the
phone line after the first ring. Regular Download/Upload and Status DUC menu
options can now be processed.
